DISCLAIMER: This is one of the first post ever written on Keep Calm and Travel. I decided to leave all the old posts as a reminder to myself on how it all started and how things evolve over time. It’s so cute to read this small blog posts after years..
Here I am, after 3 days in bed with the flu in August (how cool is that?)
My first thought was “Cle! where in hell do you think you’re going if you catch the flu even in August”
So my already hyper hypochondriac mind started working like crazy, thinking about all the risks, and awful diseases I could catch, vaccinations side effects and only God knows what else.
I imagined catastrophic (and quite funny) scenarios of me spraying myself with insect repellent every 5 minutes, or walking around with a special net for my entire body .I know, no wonder why I called the blog “KEEP CALM”.
But hey! I never allowed my hypochondria to get in the middle of my plans! so as soon as I will be able to get out of my bed here is my first pit stop:
BUYING ONE WAY TICKET TO BANGKOK!
Just writing it down sounds so unreal and weird. Paolino and I decided that the “deadline”to buy the ticket was mid september. Actually I think I took the decision, I’m not sure of anything anymore.
1) I need a concrete proof that all this is not just a dream.
2) With my ticket in my hands I can face ANYTHING!
From going back to my job,to sort out the million things on my “to do list”, which includes selling my stuff and much more.
In less than 2 weeks the real planning will start and I’ll keep you posted on:
- What exactly the plan is: we still haven’t decided anything apart for the first country to visit: Thailand.
- My “Things to do list”: control freak mode On. I am a fanatic of lists.
- What I will pack: not much I guess.
But most importantly: who took the decision to leave everything and head to South East Asia between me and Paolo? Which basically means: who’s the nuts between the two of us?
We were actually discussing that today, while the poor guy came to my place to rescue me with vitamin C and paracetamol, but we couldn’t find an answer. I think the decision took shape by itself. The power of dreams!
What is going to happen after landing in Bangkok? God only knows for now, and that’s what makes this journey so exciting!
Just wondering, buying a ticket now for mid february, is going to be too early?! Well WHO CARES!
