The Best Places To Take Them For A Cool Holiday!
Vacationing with teenagers can be difficult. They may complain about leaving their social lives behind and the last thing you want is a moody teenager ruining your vacation! Keep your holiday filled with plenty of activities and new things for them to see and you won’t hear any more complaints.
1 |Vancouver, Canada
Vancouver, BC is on the west coast of Canada. There are exquisite views of snow peaked mountains and the Pacific Ocean from many different vantage points in the city like Queen Elizabeth Park and Stanley Park just to name a couple. This beautiful laidback city has many fabulous things that teenagers will love.
Stroll around the Seawall that goes all around the city that takes you through Stanley Park and Yaletown, and stop at the beach on Denman to see the Inukshuk from the 2010 Olympics.
Be sure to browse Robson Street, Granville Street, Commercial Street, and Gastown to check out the shopping and sample fantastic multicultural food. Visit Chinatown (one of the largest in the world) and try some dim sum. Catch a bus to the north shore and head to Grouse Mountain, and Capilano Suspension Bridge for an adventure.
2 | Safari /Visiting Namibia
Home of the Etosha National Park, a safari in Namibia will allow you to see elephants, giraffes, lions, and many others fascinating wild animals. The Kalahari Desert and the Namib Desert are also found here and these are great places for you and your teenagers to view exotic animals in their natural habitats.
You can learn how to track black rhinos and see the many different animals and learn about how they have adapted to living in the harsh extremes of the desert.
You can camp in South Namibia if you love the outdoors and the thrill of the real adventure. Make sure you head to Sossusvlei Dunes, the highest natural sand dune in the world, and go for a trek.
3 | Costa Rica
Head to Costa Rica and go for a guided trek in the rainforest. Teenagers will love a chance see monkeys, sloths, different kinds of amphibians, reptiles, arachnids birds, and insects, and much more!
Another great option is heading to the beach and signing your teenagers up for some fun surfing lessons. It is an exciting sport that strengthens core muscles and will teach them about independence. Plus it’s cool, and teenager love to show off their cool skills with their friends 😉
4 | Canal Boating UK
Exploring the waterways of the UK on a canal holiday is a great way to bond with the whole family and your teens will love the relaxing feel of the boat. You can rent canal boats from many different companies and there are different sizes to accommodate different numbers of people.
When you cruise the canals you can expect to see stunning scenery, small villages, and towns. You can get out and explore wherever there is a place to tie the boat. If you are in England, the Thames has a lot of locks to explore and you can cruise to places like Oxford, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, or even London.
Northern Ireland has Loughe Erne which is an extensive labyrinth that consists of 150 islands. Travel along the River Erne from Lower Lake to Upper Lake and you will find a scenic route that is filled with beautiful scenery, historic castles, and monasteries.
5 | Iceland
Iceland is a great place to get away from everything and view the beauty of nature. Rent a camper van and explore Ring Road which travels for 1500km along the coast. You can expect to see active volcanoes, towering glaciers, vibrantly colored glacier fed lakes, the stunning black beach of Vik and towering waterfalls.
What about seeing the Northern lights?Nothing better for dreaming teenagers (and an incredible experience for the whole family!)
Make sure you take the time to see the Viking ruins that this country is also famous for. Reykjavík has a great night scene that has a beautiful natural backdrop.
