Read on to find some inspiration!
Finding a family holiday that everyone is interested in can be difficult. Planning your vacation around physical activities is a great way to create lasting memories and ensure that everyone has a great time. Here are four family-friendly destinations for an active holiday.
Biking / Road Trip In The UK With Your Kids
The UK is a fabulous place for an active holiday and there are many adventures that your family can embark on. You can plan an awesome road trip, and organize activities to stop off at. There are many companies that offer bicycle rentals and you can join guided tours or plan your own route with GPS.
There are many cycling routes that will take you past Roman ruins, quaint villages, visit historic towns, historic churches, and ancient castles. Cycling burns lots of calories so you can feel to stop and indulge in the many yummy foods along the way.
There are also walking routes and you can head to Cornwall and try the South West Path or head to the Yorkshire Dales and explore some of the UK’s finest nature. If you head to Northern Ireland you can rent a castle, live like royalty, and ride horses every day. Once you’ve decided on a location, make sure you
Once you’ve decided on a location, make sure you rent child-friendly accommodation in the UK, if you’ve got young children it’s worthwhile researching your accommodation fully in advance to make sure that they are going to provide everything you need, e.g. stair gates and high chairs.
Even if all these amazing routes are not to be missed, I also recommend you add a few days in the famous English capital to your UK Itinerary. The things to do in London with kids are so varied and interesting that you should take at least 3-4 days to be able to explore just a few of the infinite possibilities available!
Costa Rica Family Adventures
Costa Rica is a fantastic place for an active family to visit. You can head to one of the many beaches and swim, snorkel or try surfing. Playa Grande is a great beach for surfing and the waves are always really great.
The whole family can take lessons and learn how to surf. Make sure you also spend a day to try trekking in the jungle and see all of the exciting creatures that live there. You hike high above the ground and you can see sloths, monkeys, and many different kinds of birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and arachnids. Your kids will be delighted! So much better than the zoo, right?
Family Vacation In The French Alps
The French Alps are a great place to plan an active family vacation especially if you want to have a go at a variety of summer activities.
There are three major ski hills in the French Alps called Les Portes du Soleil, Les Trois Vallees, and Paradiski.
In the winter you can go skiing, ice climbing, or tobogganing. The hills are also open in the summer and you can try rock climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, and heli-skiing. Make sure you take the time to explore the many wonderful French villages and indulge in fine wine and expertly prepared food. You can head over to Lake Geneva on the Swiss border and spend some time relaxing on the beach, swimming, rowing, sailing, scuba diving, or windsurfing.

Cayman Islands Family Holidays
Scuba diving with kids is a great way for the whole family to stay active on their vacation. To save time on your vacation everyone can get certified at home before you leave. Many dive shops will offer lessons and certification at local pools. The Cayman Islands are a great place to head for scuba diving.
The water is really clear and the weather is so mild that you can dive all year round. Grand Cayman is the most popular of the Cayman Islands for scuba diving and you can dive in waters that have very little current and are filled with shipwrecks, coral reefs, and many fabulous marine life viewings.
These are just some of the destinations around the world where you can enjoy some quality time with your kids and have a great holiday.
